This piece of art embodies the aura of the 2016 Syrah Reserve by the Stone & Key winemakers using grapes sourced from Big Valley, Lake County, California. In Big Valley and other Lake County valleys, the soils are alluvial, ranging from sandy and gravelly to loam and clay. Many of these slopes and terraces, leached of nutrients, are ideal for growing wine grapes like Syrah. The warm climate plays a major role in growing deeply flavored Syrah, so its no mistake that this wine holds onto its fruit character through the finish and makes you crave red meat and a night of primal dancing. This artwork captures the essence of Syrah with lava flow-like combinations of dark colors. It is almost as if the Syrah was aging in barrel and it’s sediment was dumped out onto canvas with intention. Mark Pagliaro, & Matt Check put a lot of time and effort into this meaty wine and you can tell when you take your first sip. Deep garnet with crimson hues to the eye with allspice, black currant and pepper steak in the aromas. On the palate hot grilled meat is complimented by notes of cherry and blackberry. So walk by this painting in your great room, to your backyard where you fire up the grill and enjoy this wine both whilst you cook and as you feast.
